How we handle your information and how the app works, in plain language.
Privacy policy

The short version: we collect only what we need, we never sell your data, and we never use it for advertising. Your privacy is the foundation of this app.
Who we are
A Little Help?! Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Arlington, TX (EIN 35‑2983400). We run a free community app that connects neighbors through small acts of kindness.
What we collect
To create an account, we collect your email address, first name, and zip code. Your first name and zip code are shown publicly in the app. Your email address is never shown publicly. We use it only to verify your account and to contact you about the app.
If you add a profile photo, other users can see it. The app also stores the posts, messages, and reports you create so it can work.
If you contact us through the app's support form, we keep your name, email, and message so we can reply.
If you join our waitlist, we collect the details you enter on the signup form, such as your email address and zip code, so we can tell you when the app reaches your area.
We do not collect your last name, phone number, home address, payment information, or any government-issued identification.
How we use your information
We use your information to run the app, verify your account, show you posts near you, and contact you about your account or the app. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.
Who helps us run the app
A small number of service providers run parts of the app for us. They handle your information only to provide their service to us, and never for their own purposes:
Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (website and app hosting), and EmailOctopus (waitlist emails, only if you join the waitlist).
What we never do
We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes, and we will never use your data to build advertising profiles.
If we ever feature mission-aligned sponsors, it will be simple banners we place ourselves. Sponsors will never receive your information, and we won't use ad networks or tracking.
Messages
Messages between users are private. Our team may review messages in response to a safety report or a violation of our terms. Everyone is told this at signup.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app. Deleting your account permanently erases your profile, photo, posts, messages, and notifications. This can't be undone.
You can leave the waitlist at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of our emails. To have your waitlist information deleted entirely, or for any other data question, email us at megan@alittlehelpapp.org.
If A Little Help?! ever closes
If our organization dissolves, merges, or stops running the app, we will delete your information. We will not transfer it to any other organization or company.
Children
A Little Help?! is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us right away.

Acceptance
By creating an account or using A Little Help?!, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use A Little Help?!. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Your responsibilities
You agree to use A Little Help?! for lawful purposes only and in a way that does not harm others. You are responsible for all activity on your account. You agree not to post content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, abusive, or discriminatory.
Safety
A Little Help?! is a platform for connecting neighbors. It is not a professional service and is not a substitute for emergency services. If you are in danger, call 911. When meeting someone in person, always use good judgment, meet in public places, and trust your instincts.
No guarantees
We do not guarantee that help will be available, that users will follow through on commitments, or that any particular outcome will result from using the app. All interactions are voluntary and between users.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we believe pose a safety risk to the community.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by email or in-app notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.

Not a professional service
A Little Help?! connects neighbors for informal mutual aid. Users of the app are not licensed professionals. Nothing shared through A Little Help?! is medical, legal, financial, or professional advice of any kind.
Not an emergency service
A Little Help?! is not an emergency service. In any emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.
Limitation of liability
A Little Help?! Inc. is not responsible for the actions, conduct, or content of its users. We are not liable for any harm, loss, or damage arising from interactions between users or from use of the app.
Nonprofit status
A Little Help?! Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. EIN 35‑2983400.
